I am glad to hear that you have a roommate and that you know that there are counseling services on campus if needed. If you or anyone you know on campus is going through a really difficult time, please contact one of the teachers, including me so that we can find the appropriate help. We certainly don’t want another tragedy to happen again.

Yes, I get along with my roommate and some people who are in my floor. My mommy told me to talk to them and she put me in the dorm because for her I wasn’t ready to take apartment alone in a new city. I like our dorm but I was never confronted to the suicide before. I used to see the girl who commit suicide in my floor but I didn’t imagine that she had a problem so it was a little bit confusing because she had a boyfriend and friend. People said that she had depression. Also, in my floor everybody have a roommate but she was the one who was alone. Actually, it’s hard to talk with someone who you don’t know too much and I don’t know why it’s so complicated here. The communication is the only problem but I think VCU should support enough students because some are not strong and after this my mommy told me to go to see the counseling and my friend from Mali go there too because as a International Student we need it and I might go to see.
Thank you Audrey
It sounds like you have good communication with your roommate. You are lucky and also a decent communicator yourself, I imagine. I am sorry to hear about the student in your dorm who committed suicide. Do you feel like the university is providing enough support to the students? Do you know that there are free counseling services in the Student Commons if you or someone you know needs help or someone to talk to?
Yesterday I spoke with my roommate about the topic that I choose in the classroom. It was about what are some important qualities of a good roommate? I had two roommates before her and we all got along together too. My roommate and I speak a lot and we do things sometimes together, she is very.
